Holy Orders

The man who is ordained receives a gift from the Holy Spirit that gives him a sacred authority that is conferred upon him by Christ through the bishop. Being a priest does not mean just assuming an office or a ministry. Through Holy Orders a priest receives as a gift a power and mission for his brothers and sisters (YouCat 249; CCC, 1538). The sacrament of Holy Orders can only be received by baptized Catholic men (CCC, 1577-1579).

If you feel our Lord is calling you to the priesthood, do not be afraid to approach one of the priests to talk about this call you feel in your heart. If you wish to the get in touch with the Vocations Director of the Archdiocese, click here.
